Account Manager- Plate Product Manager


About the business and the role

Our client is currently seeking to appoint a Sales professional with extensive Plate Product knowledge and experience gained within the Steel Industry.

The main objective of this role is to manage, market and develop the companies Plate Division.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, your key duties and responsibilities will include:
-  Be in involved in purchasing of all plate products to ensure maintenance of stock levels to meet the market requirements.
- Negotiations with manufacturers on pricing, special projects, promotions and public relations
- Conduct market analysis of the plate market and implement appropriate strategies to ensure the company continue to grow and become a major player in the plate market.
- Work closely with other Sales people within the company to ensure Plate sales are increased amongst existing clients from other divisions.
- Involvement in all quotations for major orders/contracts
- To identify new clients across new industries
- Proactively be involved in new products to both suppliers and customers
- to assist in setting budgets
- Liaise with the Warehouse to ensure customer service levels are maintained

In order to succeed in this role you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Solid understanding of Plate Products
- Proven sales and account management background
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication (verbal and written)
- Solid sales negotiation skills
- Passion for the industry and delivery excellent customer outcomes beneficial to both the company and the customer
